1. Introduction

Welcome to Director’s Cue (“we,” “us,” or “our”). These Terms of Service govern your engagement with our services, which include but are not limited to:

  • Representation for book-to-film and television adaptations
  • Pitching materials (e.g., books, screenplays, treatments) to producers, studios, and investors
  • Consulting on rights negotiations and entertainment industry partnerships

By using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

2. Client Representation

  • Submission Requirements: All submitted materials must be original, fully owned by you, and free of legal claims or disputes.
  • No Guarantees: We do not guarantee the adaptation, sale, or production of any submitted work.
  • Fees and Payments: Any applicable fees will be clearly outlined in a separate, signed agreement.

3. Intellectual Property

  • You retain full ownership of all materials you submit.
  • By submitting materials, you grant us the limited right to share your work with potential producers, studios, and partners solely for the purpose of representation.

4. Confidentiality

We treat all submissions as confidential. However, we cannot guarantee the actions or confidentiality practices of third parties.

We strongly encourage you to register your work with the U.S. Copyright Office prior to submission.

5. Limitation of Liability

Director’s Cue shall not be held liable for:

  • Rejection of materials by third parties
  • Outcomes of negotiations or agreements made with external parties

6. Termination

Either party may terminate the representation at any time by providing written notice.

7. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the State of Washington, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
